Tour of watermills and the Loenense Bos

The parking lot is near Papierfabriek De Middelste Molen. The water mill from 1887 grinds on the Loenense Beek, but paper has been produced at this location since 1622. After a restoration organized by paper manufacturers from the region, paper has been milled again with the mill since 1991. The production process has hardly been adjusted and the Middelste Molen is the only working paper factory in the Netherlands that still runs on water power. In Eerbeek you cycle to the next watermill, which is simply called De Korenmolen. The Eerbeek mill is the only working overcast water mill in the Netherlands. Cycling through the Loenense Bos you will come across a sheepfold. Have a cup of coffee at Brasserie Delicat in Hoenderloo before you cycle back to your starting point!
