Unique vantage points along the route in Vlieland

Cycle across the island of peace and space: Vlieland. Enjoy with a salty sea breeze in your hair and look out over the North Sea, while you literally cycle around the island. Dune areas, beaches and relatively many forests between all that sand. There is only one village, but there is still plenty of entertainment. Tourism is the main source of income on the Wadden Island. If you don't want to take your own bike with you or if you want to rent a tandem or cargo bike, you can visit Zeelen Vlieland bicycle rental when you arrive on the island. The bike rental is only 100 meters away from the ferry landing point. Perhaps the most impressive sight is the Vuurduin lighthouse, which stands on the 45 meter high Vuurboetsduin. That gives the lighthouse, which is only 9.5 meters high, quite a sight. The lighthouse was placed on Vlieland in 1909, but before that it was already in IJmuiden. Ten years later, the lookout post was built next to the lighthouse.
