Tour of the estates of Zwolle and Heino

Your route begins just outside Zwolle. In Zwolle's old city center, you'll encounter a rich cultural history. In the countryside, you'll cycle through expansive polders and the IJssel Valley. On car-free roads, you'll stretch your legs in a beautiful polder landscape. One of the beautiful estates you'll see along your journey is Rozendael Castle. "Erve Rozendal" was first mentioned in 1583 as a tenant farm belonging to Bredenhorst manor. When the Het Nijenhuis estate was purchased by the same owner in 1987, a contiguous nature reserve was created. The medieval Nijenhuis is one of the best-preserved manors in Overijssel, with an imposing castle set in a stunning landscape. It now houses Museum de Fundatie.
