Description

Today's tour takes you past numerous sights around Apeldoorn and Hoenderloo. In the village of Lieren you can take a look at the Beekbergen VSM (Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij) station, a stop on the tourist steam train that runs between Apeldoorn and Dieren. The line was built in 1887 on the initiative of King William III. Then you drive past the Vrijenbergerspreng and the Loenense waterfall: the highest waterfall in the Netherlands! This reduces the flow in the stream, which has a drop of about 15 meters over a length of 6.5 km. The Loenermark is then a beautiful area with forests, rolling heathlands and a sheepfold. You drive back past Radio Kootwijk, the former radio station to the starting point of the route; Bospaviljoen't Leesten. Enjoy a well-deserved drink with a tasty snack here.
