Route was fine. Weather conditions not bad. Outward journey thin cloud, sometimes sun. Return journey no more sun, somewhat cooler and more wind. But the entire journey remained dry. Outward journey piece cut off between junctions 4 and junction 11. As a result, junction 6 was skipped. Estimated saving 4 km. From Nieuwstad (back) not via junctions 18 and 23, but shorter via junction 16 through the inner route to junction 13. Estimated saving 7 km. Total distance therefore not 61 km, but approximately 50 km.
