By bike through the Leudal

Historic sites
From Kelpen-Oler you cycle in the direction of the Maas through Baexem and Horn. Along the way you cycle through wet forests in the deep stream valleys. These forests are the habitat of badgers, deer and all kinds of birds. A little further on you cycle through Haelen, where you can take a look at Aldenghoor Castle. The oldest parts of this castle date from the 15th century and other parts were added around the year 1700. A little further along the route you can learn more about the nature and heritage of Leudal at the Streekmuseum Leudal/St. Elisabethshof. Other places of interest are the Leumolen from 1558 and the St. Petrus mill from 1901.

Grand café Bie de Tied
Via Neer and Heibloem you cycle back to Kelpen-Oler. There you can relax after your trip at Grandcafé Bie de Tied with a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner. From here you can also follow route 533201.

Admire mills
Both mills on this route are centuries old. The Leumolen was probably built in 1558 as a grain and oil mill. The mill may be much older. In 1773 the mill was rebuilt in stone. The St. Petrus mill is slightly less old. This mill dates from 1901. Until the middle of the 20th century, this mill ground grain on a professional basis. The mill still runs regularly on Saturdays today.
