Description
A unique route through a swamp area interspersed with authentic villages. The enormous variety of landscapes ensures a rich nature with many special residents.
Each part of the peat bog has its own inhabitants. The open water is the domain of many fish species, the extensive reed fields provide an excellent home for all kinds of marsh birds and the flower-rich wet grasslands are excellent breeding areas for meadow birds. It is not without reason that De Alde Feanen is considered by experts to be one of the most beautiful wetlands in Northwest Europe!
But in addition to this beautiful nature, the National Park has wonderful surrounding villages. A combination of culture and nature makes this part of Friesland so unique.
If you want to enjoy this park to the fullest, you can visit all the hosts of the park via this varied route. The hosts of the National Park can tell you everything about this unique area. So get on your bike quickly and don't miss anything!
The route starts in Wergea (96). Here you can go to De Lytse Buorren. Then you cycle towards Wartena (32) where you will find various hosts. De Wartenster, Gerkema Zathe and Yachtcharter Heegstra and don't forget to visit the Warten museum.
The route continues from (33, 35, 36) towards Eernewoude. On this road you will find the hosts Wartena Hoeve and De Sayter. Just before you reach the village of Eernewoude you can make a nice stop at Outdoor Veldboom. Make your bike ride an extra special family outing. Make a fire, solve puzzles, build a catapult! Everything is possible here!
Then (38) you cycle through the water sports village of Eernewoude. Here you will also find enthusiastic hosts and another beautiful museum't Skutsje Museum. For information you can easily contact the Eernewoude Tourist Office. Would you like to have something to eat or view De Alde feanen from the water? Then be sure to visit one of the hosts of Boat Rental Company Hollema, Alde Feanen Rental or Annage. Are you in need of a break with something tasty? Then you can go to Hotel Princenhof, Eetcafe Westersail. or Porto Casa. You will also find Camping Simmerwille from junction 38.
You can also cycle around Eernewoude itself. You will meet the following hosts along the way. For a fun family outing you can go to De Twirre. Camping't Wiid, Bungalow Park It Wiid, Group accommodation De Kern and Jachtcharter Hoekstra. (16, 39).
From Eernewoude you cycle towards Oudega. If you are still looking for idyllic places, you will definitely want to stay at B&B Oudega or Camping Tsjelp (40).
From Oudega (44, 14) you come to the next village De Veenhoop. Would you like to alternate cycling with sailing? Which can. Along the way you cycle past Rondvaartbedrijf Harmonie. Do you want to cool down or are you looking for a place to play? Then get off at Lyts Bûthûs for delicious ice cream. You will also find a B&B Justjesoars and Camping and Marina De Veenhoop here.
Then (6, 12, 49) you arrive in the village of De Veenhoop. Have you always wanted to sail? Then you can take a look at Sailing School Veenhoop. Extra tip: you cycle past two windmills'De Burd\\\' and'Haensmolen\\\'.
In the last village of Grou (30) you can also fully enjoy water sports, but you will also find nice boutiques here. Our hosts in this area are Information Point Grou, Watersportpark Yn\\\'e Lijte, Sup away Grou, Hotel Restaurant Oostergoo, Rondvaartbedrijf Redbad, Moai Fuort Grou and Anja Bootverhuur.
From Grou you can continue cycling to the starting point in Warga (31, 37, 69)
