Tour of dolmens from Gasselte

Your route starts at Camping het Horstmannsbos. In Gasselte you can admire the strikingly white Church of Our Lady, from the middle of the thirteenth century. In Boswachterij Gieten-Borger the path leads you through a mix of deciduous and coniferous forests, heathland and peat bogs. Here you will find the famous Boomkroonpad. In Borger you can see the medieval church tower. Just outside Borger you will pass the Hunebedcentrum. In this beautiful museum you will learn everything about the hunebedden and their builders. Definitely take part in this theme route! Among other things, you can see the complete inventory of hunebed D26, excavated in 1970. Close to the Hunebedcentrum is D27: the largest hunebed in the Netherlands. Past Drouwen you drive through the forests of the Drouwenerzand. A wonderfully varied route, full of nature and culture!
