The route also leads you past some beautiful castles, such as Slot Loevestein and Ammersoyen Castle. Visit Slot Loevestein and learn all about this beautiful 17th-century fortress. With its impressive corner towers, the robust castle wall and the wide moat, Ammersoyen Castle is one of the best preserved medieval moated castles in our country. You cycle the last part of the route towards Gorinchem, where the route passes Fort Vuren and the Hugo de Grootpoortje. From Gorinchem, take the ferry or water taxi back to Slot Loevestein.
