Description
In the Meuse Valley you drive through a varied and mostly wide river landscape. You also cross the forests of the Hoge Kempen. In Maastricht France suddenly seems very close, what a special atmosphere!
Oud-Rekem Along the leafy Julianakaal you loosen up your legs, before crossing the Maas and cycling into Belgium. You cycle through Eisden-Tuinwijk, an old mining district. Then you cycle through the slightly rolling forests of the Hoge Kempen National Park. Enjoy the silence between the fragrant conifers. Further on you come through Oud-Rekem, which was voted'Most beautiful village in Flanders\\\' in 2008 because of its many centuries-old buildings.
Maastricht Along the Maas you drive to the historical heart of Maastricht. Get off here every now and then to enjoy the special atmosphere and many beautiful buildings. You cross the Maas via the thirteenth-century Sint-Servaasbrug, the oldest bridge in the Netherlands. You will also see the famous Centre Ceramique.
