Experience the Maas between Heumen and Boxmeer

From the parking lot at the Sambeek lock complex, you can take a bike ride along the Maas between Heumen and Boxmeer. Here you can see the famous Maasheggen landscape. Nowhere else can you see such well-preserved hawthorn and blackthorn hedges. You pass Castle Boxmeer, further on you pass through the historic heart of Cuijk. At Van Der Valk Hotel Cuijk - Nijmegen you can grab a cozy terrace before you continue cycling to Heumen. Here you can see, among other things, the lock complex in the Maas-Waal Canal. The first lock dates from 1927, the second from 2013. It is also wonderful to cycle through nature on the other side of the Maas. You pass through Mook and through Gennep, in Heijen you cycle past the former castle. At Afferden you cross the Maas with a ferry.
