Experience the Maas between Heumen and Boxmeer

From the parking lot at the Sambeek Lock Complex, you will cycle along the Maas between Heumen and Boxmeer. Here you will see the famous Maasheggen landscape. Nowhere else can you see such well-preserved hawthorn and blackthorn hedges. You will pass Boxmeer Castle, and further on you will come through the historic heart of Cuijk. At Van Der Valk Hotel Cuijk - Nijmegen you can have a nice drink on a terrace before you cycle on to Heumen. Here you will see, among other things, the lock complex in the Maas-Waal Canal. The first lock dates from 1927, the second from 2013. The other side of the Maas is also a beautiful place to cycle through nature. You will pass through Mook and Gennep, and in Heijen you will cycle past the former castle. At Afferden you will cross the Maas by ferry.
