Tour of Leiden and Kagerplassen

Your route starts at Camping Ons Wijland. The history of Leiden dates back to at least the year 860, when it was still a dike village, built at the foot of an artificial hill. You cycle along the Herensingel, but you can of course also go into the city to soak up the atmosphere and sit on a terrace. Mill De Herder, a tower mill built in 1884, is equipped as a saw mill. Next to the mill you see a house built in the style of sawing sheds. You cycle further via the nice old Warmond and Sassenheim. Then you cross a beautiful system of peat lakes just above the city: the Kagerplassen. It is the oldest water sports area in the Netherlands! The beautiful villages of Rijpwetering and Oude Ade complete it.
