Description
You start at TOP Katwijk – Zuidduinen, a perfect place to park your car. From here you can easily pedal to Leiden. You will pass Paddenpoel Castle from 1250. This first Paddenpoel castle was completely destroyed on November 12, 1393 in response to the murder of Aleid van Poelgeest. After a reconciliation took place, the castle was allowed to be rebuilt. Naturalis National Natural History Museum is a nice place to soak up the atmosphere, as is Museumhaven Kort Galgewater. Stop for coffee and apple pie at the Stal den Hollander farm shop! Oudheidkamer Wassenaar is also an interesting place to take a break. Via Landgoed Vreeburg you cycle into the beautiful Meijendel nature reserve. Further on, put your bike aside to enjoy Berkheide. Be sure to get off at Stal den Hollander!
