Description
You start at TOP Katwijk – Zuidduinen, a perfect place to park your car. From here you can easily cycle to Leiden. You will pass Paddenpoel Castle from 1250. This first Paddenpoel Castle was completely destroyed on 12 November 1393 in response to the murder of Aleid van Poelgeest. After a reconciliation, the castle was allowed to be rebuilt. Naturalis National Museum of Natural History is a nice place to experience the atmosphere, as is Museumhaven Kort Galgewater. Stop for coffee and apple pie at the farm shop Stal den Hollander! Oudheidkamer Wassenaar is also an interesting place to take a break. Via Landgoed Vreeburg you cycle into the beautiful nature reserve Meijendel. Further on, put your bike aside to enjoy Berkheide. Be sure to get off at Stal den Hollander!
