Tour of heathland and forest between Hattem and Epe

In the IJssel valley you will be amazed: how beautifully rural it is here! In Hattem you should definitely get off to discover the nice Hanseatic town with its beautiful old center. Get off for a cup of coffee at Plaza De Haven. Then you cycle past the watermill of Hattem-Molecaten, one of the first paper mills of the Veluwe. The mill is located on an estate that belongs to Huis Molecaten, built in 1646. In 1824 Huis Molecaten was renovated in the neo-classical style. Along Landgoed Petrea you cycle to the Oldebroekse Heide. There is also plenty to see here: large and smaller sand drifts, heathlands, rough areas and woods. On the way to the picturesque village of Epe you will come across more patches of heath here and there.
