The Jeker is a river that flows through Tongeren in Belgium to Maastricht, where it flows into the Maas. Over the centuries, the Jeker has carved out a sloping valley in which cozy villages with old churches are located. Past Tongeren you cycle back to the Netherlands through the Flemish Haspengouw. In Eijsden, settle down on the terrace of Heerlijkheid Breust for a fresh beer and a delicious meal. You can also stay there in the associated B&B. There are two beautiful Limburg castles on your route. Castle Eijsden has medieval origins, the current pleasure garden dates from 1636. Wine castle Genoelselderen is the only wine castle in Belgium.
