From Renesse to Oosterscheldekering

From your starting point, you can easily cycle to De Zeeuwse Stromen for a cup of coffee. Beautiful views over the water alternate with the inland of Schouwen-Duiveland on this route. The Oosterscheldekering is a striking appearance in the Zeeland waters with a total length of almost 8 kilometers. This storm surge barrier is part of the Delta Works and is a fine example of water management. You find your way through the Verklikkerduinen, a landscape formed by semi-circular parabolic dunes and wet dune valleys full of flowers. The drifting dunes by the sea give you a real holiday feeling. There are three dune valleys to distinguish: the outside verklikker, the inside verklikker and the rabbit circus. As the name suggests, rabbits hop happily through the sand, but salamanders and dragonflies also know how to find the Verklikkerduinen.
