Schouwen-Duiveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 147901
Provided by: route.nl
From your starting point you can easily cycle to De Zeeuwse Stromen for a cup of coffee. Beautiful views over water alternate with the interior of Schouwen-Duiveland on this route. With a total length of almost 8 kilometers, the Oosterscheldekering is a striking appearance in the waters of Zeeland. This storm surge barrier is part of the Delta Works and is an excellent example of water management. You find your way through the Verklikkerduinen, a landscape formed by semicircular parabolic dunes and wet dune valleys full of flowers. The drifting dunes by the sea give you a real holiday feeling. Three dune valleys can be distinguished: the outdoor detector, the indoor detector and the rabbit circus. As the name suggests, rabbits hop happily through the sand, but salamanders and dragonflies also find their way to the Verklikkerduinen.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
