During this last part of your bike ride you will pass one of the most special places in the area: Ruurlo castle and estate. The country estate was already mentioned in 1326 and has been in the hands of the Dutch noble family van Heeckeren since the fifteenth century. The building consists of many different architectural styles because the castle has been built on almost constantly over the years and centuries. For example, part of a medieval wall still exists in the cellar and almost the entire left side of the castle was built in the sixteenth century. The tower at the back was built a century later. One wall in the of this tower was provided with new gables in the nineteenth century. For a long time, the castle was the location for the television series 'de Zevensprong'. Nowadays, the castle is regularly used as a wedding location.

 After just over 10 KM you will arrive at Boerderijmuseum de Lebbenbrugge. Here you can take a journey through time and see how agriculture used to be. It is great fun to see what rural life was like a few centuries ago, especially when you compare it to the modern techniques of today's farmers.
