Tour of Westhove Castle, Domburg and Veere

On Walcheren you can enjoy the vastness of the province of Zeeland by bike. After the start you will soon pass the beautiful Westhove Castle, with the surrounding park-like estate. You cycle behind the dunes from the North Sea to the Veerse Meer, which is 22 kilometers long. The width of the brackish water lake varies between 150 and 1500 meters and there are thirteen islands in the lake. The Veerse Meer was created by the damming of the Veerse Gat, when the Delta Works were constructed. It is one of the few places in the Netherlands where the Zuiderzee crab is found. Get off in beautiful old Veere and then take a break at Theetuin and Farm Camping Plantlust. You cycle back to your starting point via the lovely Oostkapelle and Domburg.
