Walking through the Buikheide nature reserve

Walking through the forest is wonderful. Put on your walking shoes and explore the area between Oerle and Vessem. The starting point is at Gasterij Dorpsgenot, a cozy restaurant in the middle of the woods where you can enjoy a tasty snack and a drink after your walk. During the route you walk through the Buikheide forest area. Due to the special flora in the Brabant nature reserve, it has been designated as a protected natural monument. The two fens in the area were created naturally by drifting sand. Het Grootven measures 19 hectares and is therefore one of the larger fens in North Brabant. Further on in the area, in addition to areas of pine forest, there are also many plots of more open forest. In short: a wonderful walk through a wooded area. Ultimate enjoyment!
