Description
During your tour you will enjoy wide views over grasslands and over the Heekermeer and the Slotermeer. A beautiful contrast with the wooded Gaasterland. You will cycle through the Rijsterbos here, among other things. On the edge of the Jolderenbos is Air Watch Tower 6H3 from 1953. This tower was intended as a place to spot planes that could fly under the radar. In Oudemirdum you will pass the Fontein, a church from 1790. In Nijemirdum you will see a solitary church tower from the fourteenth century. The associated church was demolished in the eighteenth century.
