Description

The route starts and ends at Princess Hotel Beekbergen. In Beekbergen you can quickly get off for a stopover at B&B De Koffietuin. During this tour you cycle in the IJsseldelta, to the left of the IJssel. This river flows in the valley between the Veluwe and the Sallandse Heuvelrug. The route partly runs through the open floodplains of the IJssel, so you have beautiful views. In this area you will see many old beds and channels, but also a great diversity of plants and birds. Near Loenen you pass the Middelste Molen, a water mill from 1887 that is located on the Loenense Beek. You will also pass Ter Horst Castle. Around 1557, the mayor of Arnhem had his summer and hunting residence built here.
