This route takes you to the ancient Sint Pieterspolder in the middle of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. The polder is located south of the village of Phillipine and is about 203 hectares in size. Here you cycle between the vast meadows. From Westdorpe you drive in the direction of Sas van Gent, where you cross the Ghent-Terneuzen canal and continue along the watercourse. Via the town of Philippine you return to Sas van Gent, an old and strategically located fortification site that was fiercely fought over during the Eighty Years' War.
In Sas van Gent you pass the hull of a mill located on the Generality bastion. This former octagonal ground sailor was formerly used as a flour mill. The mill was built in 1828, but was damaged during the Second World War.
A little further on you pass the Industrial Museum where you can view parts of former factories in Sas van Gent. Many devices from sugar factories, weaving mills and glass factories are on display here.
