A tour of eastern Zeeuws-Vlaanderen

Cycle through the eastern part of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. The atmosphere in this beautiful city is a mixture of two cultures; both the Belgian Flanders and the Dutch Zeeland. Many ancient sights have remained untouched. You can admire the eighteenth-century city gates in full regalia. From the city you cycle back west via Sint Jansteen and Heikant. Just before Westdorpe you pass through the Canisvliet, where creek remnants, forests and meadows alternate. From Westdorpe you cycle through the Autrichepolder. Spot birds such as the snipe, lapwing and avocet here. After about fifty kilometers you arrive back in Axel.
