The Achterhoek is an ideal region for a beautiful bike ride. You ride through the Winterswijk National Landscape with its ash trees, small-scale forests, hedgerows and stream valleys. From the saddle you can enjoy this beautiful region at your leisure. In addition to natural beauty, there is also plenty of cultural history to discover. Just before junction 21 you will see a centuries-old water mill on the Boven-Slinge on the left of the road. Further on, on the same stream, you will find Berenschots Molen from 1652. In Vragender you will pass the Vier Winden, a corn mill from 1958. You will ride along the edge of the Korenburgerveen, in Winterswijk you will pass the Vrijheidspark. Here lies an erratic boulder from the ice age, it is the second largest found in the Netherlands. The route ends with a terrace at the Oldschool Hotel or opt for a wonderful overnight stay.
