Through the dunes of Schouwen Duiveland

Schouwen-Duivenland once consisted of four islands (Schouwen, Duivenland, Dreischor and Bommenede). Some parts are below sea level, while the height of the top is 42 meters. This tour takes you through the west side. A small detour through Nieuw Haamstede takes you to the Westerlichttoren, with its 58 meters one of the highest lighthouses in the Netherlands. On the estate of Slot Haamstede you drive through the only deciduous forest that can be found on Schouwen-Duivenland. Burgh lock. At the Oosterschelde - a national park since 2002 - you can enjoy lunch at Bar Petit Restaurant t Oliegeultje. Just outside Renesse you can see the 45-hectare estate on which the beautiful Slot Moermond stands. This castle originally dates from the thirteenth century. In recent years, the damaged walls of, among other things, the moat have been restored.
