UNESCO World Heritage
The route starts in Bleskensgraaf, one of the many beautiful towns you will visit during this route. You will see old farms, a beautiful village church and of course mills. In the vast polder you cycle along one of the many canals in this region. On the horizon you can see the Kinderdijkse Mills approaching: nineteen polder mills that were built in the eighteenth century to improve the drainage of the Alblasserwaard. World Heritage!
Loetbos
Further on you cross the Lek with a ferry for a stopover on the cozy terrace at Lunchroom Eetcafé PLein 10. In the Krimpenerwaard it is also nice to travel for miles through the vast countryside. You cycle through the Loetbos, a forty-year-old forest on the river De Loet. Just past Groot-Ammers you drive along the Molenkade past some polder mills. The Gelkenes Molen and the Achterlandse Molen are the oldest, dating from 1596.
