Tour of the Salland castle route

If you cycle this route during the asparagus season (May to June 24), you can buy fresh asparagus from one of the Salland asparagus growers! Salland is a unique cycling area located in Overijssel. A region with a lot of varied nature, charming villages. It is not without reason that the region is known as Salland Fietsland. You will pass De Velner Castle, founded in 1382. The canals are still beautifully visible, and only a farm remains from the Middle Ages on the site of the left building. Het Nijenhuis Castle is one of the best preserved manors in Overijssel and has a beautiful sculpture garden, which you can of course take a look at.
