Tree Nurseries Route

Boskoop is the most important contiguous tree nursery area in the world. This tour takes you through the area with tree and ornamental cultivation. Just past junction 3 you will pass the only working Molenviergang in the world, the Molenviergang of Aarlanderveen. This mill corridor still ensures dry feet in this polder. The old Rhine that you cycle along was the northern border of the Roman Empire. By not turning left at junction 16 to junction 5 but instead turning right to junction 29, you will arrive at the Proeftuin van Holland. The Proeftuin van Holland is an informative and educational center for and about the floriculture sector for professional use and with recreational options for consumers. On the way to junction 5 over the Reijerskoop in Boskoop you will pass the Tree Nursery Museum at number 52. In the museum you can experience 500 years of tree nursery history. Finally, you also cycle through the Zaans Rietveld and Spookverlaat nature reserve, a beautiful meadow area just south of Alphen aan den Rijn.
