Description

Delft is known for its pottery, but the historic town where Delft Blue originated has also grown into a lively student city. There are beautiful, monumental buildings in the city, because the historic city center is well preserved. The quieter rural area of Delft is a great contrast to the bustling city, but it is wonderful to find your way to Vlaardingen, the herring city of the Netherlands. This route starts at Royal Delft, the last remaining pottery factory from the 17th century. Here the world-famous Delft Blue is painted by hand according to centuries-old traditions. Take a look at the museum with your museum annual card and walk through the factory. Or have a bite to eat at Brasserie1653. This cycling route is nice and varied: you discover the city, culture and nature.
