Villages of the Westland from Oostvoorne

You cycle straight across the Second Maasvlakte to the Fast Ferry stop. You will see many mighty ships up close when you cross to Hoek van Holland with this ferry. The red cast-iron High Lighthouse is getting closer. From the shore of the Nieuwe Waterweg you can see even more large ocean ships. Then you follow the coast to Monster. A little later there are some beautiful monumental buildings on the quay in the old village center of Schipluiden. On the Vlaardingsevaart you will pass the former Rechthuis of Zouteveen, from 1651. You will also cycle through Maassluis, which became world famous in the nineteenth century because of a towing company. You will still find the National Towing Museum there.
