Villages of the Westland from Oostvoorne

Your cycle route starts at Paviljoen Stormvogel, on the Oostvoornse lake. From here you cycle across Maasvlakte 2 to the Fast Ferry stop. You can see many mighty ships from a very close distance when you cross over to Hoek van Holland with this ferry. The red cast-iron High Lighthouse is getting closer. From the banks of the Nieuwe Waterweg you can see even more large ocean ships. Then you follow the coast to Monster. In the old village center of Schipluiden, a few beautiful monumental buildings stand on the quay a little later. On the Vlaardingsevaart you will pass the former Rechthuis van Zouteveen, dating from 1651. You will also cycle through Maassluis, which became world famous in the nineteenth century for its towage company. You will still find the National Towage Museum there.
