Description

This route takes you through the Belgian-Dutch border region south of Tilburg. You'll find a mix of expansive nature reserves and open river valleys. Variety is king!

Poppel: The route starts at 't Jachthuis Tulderheyde, where you can enjoy the renowned Belgian hospitality at your leisure. Then you cycle into the sparsely populated Flemish countryside around Poppel. It's a wonderful place to cycle for miles among the meadows and fields. Just before the border, you cycle past the private estate De Schrieken.

Gorp & Roovert In Baarle-Nassau and Baarle-Hertog, you can count how many times you cross the border. The borders of the enclaves are clearly visible in the streetscape and sometimes even run right through buildings. Just below Goirle, you cycle through the Gorp & Roovert estate. The forests become denser and darker here. You cycle among beech and oak trees, but also among fragrant conifers. Civilization seems far, far away here. What tranquility!
