Oosterbeek, Doorwerth and Renkum

The Doorwerthse Heide provides a unique glimpse into the past. Traditionally there was a ford here in the Heelsumse and WOlfhezerbeek, creating a lively route. The crossings in the streams were part of a main road for stage coaches and ox carts, which at that time was still done by horse and cart or by ox cart. The cart tracks are silent proof that ancient freight transport once took place here. From the heath you can also clearly see that Doorwerth is located on a hill in a forest, which gives the town a fairytale appearance.
