Historic Maastricht, the banks of the Maas, picturesque Eijsden, the green hills in South Limburg: you can experience it all with this route. Allow a whole day for it, because there is a lot to see!
Picturesque Eisden
On the water you will soon see the Gouvernement, an island where the government of Limburg is located. Further on you drive along the Pietersplas, which was created by gravel extraction. The southwest corner of Eijsden enjoys a protected village view, what a wonderful historic atmosphere you will find here!
Old watermills
Along the Voer you will see two old water mills: De Graanmolen originally dates from 1788, the Meschermolen from 1699. In the Limburgse Heuvelland you can fully enjoy the beautiful panoramas. You will see many half-timbered houses, such as in Sint-Antoniusbank, a hamlet where time seems to have stood still. In the center of Maastricht you may prefer to walk to fully enjoy the atmosphere and buildings. The thirteenth-century Sint Servaasburg is the oldest bridge in the Netherlands!
