From the heart of Maastricht to Lanaken

This route takes you through the historic city center of Maastricht. You also cross the border to cycle through the green zone along Lanaken and the Albert Canal. From here you cycle into the old Jekerkwartier. The many old buildings and the remains of the city wall give you a southern French atmosphere. In Lanaken, Belgium, you will soon pass the impressive castle ruins of Domain Pietersheim. Near your starting point you cycle past Huis de Torentjes. This castle-like country house is the imposing domain of André Rieu.
