A day full of variety in South Limburg

With this route you kill three birds with one stone: you drive through the Limburg hills, the Maas valley and through Maastricht. Enjoy a day of the many beautiful things that South Limburg has to offer.

Elsloo Castle
The first part of the route takes you through the hilly landscape for which South Limburg is known. Sometimes it's a bit of a climb, but your effort is rewarded with views that make your heart beat faster. There is plenty of heritage to see along the way, such as characteristic square farms and old churches. Elsloo Castle is the eye-catcher of the protected villagescape in Elsloo, a picturesque town on the Maas.

Meuse valley
In Geulle aan de Maas you can see the beautiful St. Martin's Church. Just outside the village is the outer castle of Geulle Castle. This castle was once even more impressive, but it was largely demolished in 1847. Further on is the old Borgharen Castle: also a beautiful sight. A little later, Maastricht embraces you with its beautiful old neighborhoods: what a beautiful city it is.
