Description

The Hoeksche Waard is a beautiful open area south of Rotterdam. The area has been designated as a National Landscape. From Oud-Beijerland you cycle along the Spui to Goudswaard. Here you can take a look at the Windlust mill. The round stone ground sailor is probably one of the oldest stone mills in the Netherlands. A gable stone indicates the year 1694. Another attraction on this route is the Landzigt mill. This is also a round stone flour mill with the blades almost touching the ground. The ground sailer was built in 1857, but the mill already had a few predecessors on this site. The mill burned down almost completely in 1990, but was subsequently restored. Along the way you can spend a night at Camping't Volgerland, in Numansdorp.
