Tour across the border from Winterswijk

With this route you explore the beautiful natural and cultural history east of Winterswijk. Here you cycle through the Winterswijk National Landscape: a mosaic of forests, avenues, meandering streams and old estates. In addition to nature, you will also find culture here in the form of old farms. In Meddo you can see, among other things, the nineteenth-century St. John the Baptist Church. Just before junction 11 you pass a former border marker that separated the Diocese of Münster from Gelderland in the eighteenth century. Further on you cross a bit through Germany, here too you drive through a beautiful scenic landscape. Towards the end of your route you will pass two centuries-old stream forests: the Stemerdinkbos and Buskersbos. At Gastrobar Blend 61 you can relax and enjoy your beautiful bike ride with a coffee and pastry.
