Tour at Lichtenvoorde

Your route starts at Grand Cafe Markt 5. This cycling route through the Achterhoek takes you on a relaxing tour west of Lichtenvoorde. The Achterhoek landscape is characterized by winding streams, small meadows between hedgerows, forests and heathlands, many old estates and farms and ancient trees. Small chapels and crosses are scattered throughout the landscape. The ride starts and ends in Lichtenvoorde. On the Lichtenvoorde market you will find a boulder weighing more than 20,000 kilos. The boulder was dragged there in 1874 by 99 shoemakers from Lichtenvoorde, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the reign of King Willem III. Lichtenvoorde owes the name'Keistad\\\' to it, and the inhabitants the nickname'Keiensloppers\\\' (boulder tugs). On top of the stone sits a lion holding the municipal coat of arms with its front paw.
