Extraction areas in the Peel

This cycle route takes you past striking places in the landscape that recall the reclamation of the Peel at the beginning of the 20th century. Before its exploitation, the Peel still consisted of inhospitable nature, but nowadays part of the area is used as an agricultural area. Gazebos with picnic benches have been placed at various places along the route. Here you can take a short break if your energy starts to run low. On the edge of Boekel you cycle past the Boekel mill, a flour mill from the seventeenth century. When you have almost reached the end of the route, you will pass café La Compagnie in Boekel. Here you can relax from the bike ride while enjoying good food and something to drink. Enjoy the casual atmosphere with a cup of coffee or something else tasty.
