Mining areas in the Peel

This cycle route takes you past striking places in the landscape that are reminiscent of the exploitation of the Peel at the beginning of the 20th century. Before the exploitation, the Peel still consisted of inhospitable nature, but nowadays part of the area is used as agricultural land. At various places along the route, gazebos with picnic benches have been placed. Here you can take a short break if you start to run out of energy. On the edge of Boekel you cycle past the Boekel mill, a corn mill from the seventeenth century.
