From Gulpen a visit to Maastricht

This cross-border cycling tour leads you through beautiful landscapes: the Gulp valley and the Voer region. You will even visit beautiful Maastricht!

Your route will lead you further to the lovely Voerstreek, a collection of villages between beautiful green hills. ''s-Gravenvoer, for example, has developed as a ribbon village along the Voer river, with numerous footbridges over the water to the houses. The church, the parsonage and several farms in the immediate vicinity date from the 18th century - a very prosperous time for this village. One of those nice addresses is De Swaen in s-Gravenvelden, already in the 16th century a resting place for horses and travelers halfway along the stagecoach route Liège-Aachen. The current building dates from 1727 and is located in one of the most beautiful places in the Voer region, right next to the Chapel of Our Lady and a cast-iron water pump.

Maastricht is the next stop on this varied route: a beautiful historic city, but you can also have fun in terms of design. The eastern bank of the Maas has taken on a completely new face in recent years with the Center Céramique and the Bonnefanten Museum, both beautiful to discover from the cycle path along the Maas. Drop by the museum if you're passing by, it's worth it! At the back you will also find a beautiful view of the Maas.
