Description
On the Veluwe you take a long bike ride through forest and heath. In villages such as Elspeet and Vaassen it is wonderful to take a break and enjoy the conviviality and the special monuments.
Crown domain
Cycling through the trees, you quickly leave your daily routine behind. Hoog-Soeren enjoys a protected village view because of its authentic historical appearance, what a nice village! Then you drive into the vast forests and heathlands of the Crown Domain. This area was previously used for hunting and forestry. Here you will experience unprecedented silence by Dutch standards!
Hidden village
You can enjoy beautiful views on the rolling Elspeetse Heide. Stop at Museum Het Verscholen Dorp to learn more about the moving history of people in hiding. The Kopermolen is a beautiful eighteenth-century watermill. In Vaassen you will pass the sixteenth-century De Cannenburgh Castle. Further on, it's time for a refreshing break at the cozy Rozeboom Ice Cream Parlour.
