Description
During this route you will explore the area around Bleiswijk, which was once a peat area. From here you cycle south towards the Bleiswijkse Zoom, a beautiful nature reserve that borders the Rottemeren. The Rottemeren were created after the draining of surrounding polders and the river and its branches are much higher than the polders due to peatification and subsidence. This cycle route gives you the opportunity to view the octagonal ground sailors Tweemanspolder No. 3 and Tweemanspolder No. 4 up close. Enjoy this typical Dutch route!
