Along the rich heritage of the Heuvelland

This route takes you through the beautiful surroundings of Schin op Geul and Gulpen. The first few kilometres you will immediately see many old half-timbered farms along the road. It feels like you are cycling abroad. In Wijlre you will arrive at the Geul along the Molen van Otten. This undershot watermill dates from 1776. Further on you will pass the Doric Sint-Gertrudiskerk from 1839, the Brandbrouwerij (the oldest in the Netherlands) and Wijlre Castle. Further on you will find sights such as the Neubourgermolen in Gulpen and the Klooster Redemptoristen in Wittem. The road undulates a little now and then. It will cost you some effort, but you will get beautiful panoramas in return, such as at Ubachsberg. Take a break here at Brasserie Zondheed Ubachsberg, you deserve it!
