Cycling along the coast
Fort Kijkduin
Fort Kijkduin is located in the Huisduinen near Den Helder. This fortress was built in 1811 by order of Napoleon Bonaparte. Craftsmen from all over the province and Spanish prisoners of war worked on the fort at the time. Part of the defenses around the fort have disappeared over the centuries, but a large part of the fort has been preserved. Be sure to take a look here.
Cycling along the coast
From Julianadorp you cycle back to Den Helder. You drive through the dunes and through the forest. In April and May, this area is at its most beautiful with bulb fields in full bloom. You will also cycle through the Mariëndal nature reserve and along the coast. Get a breath of fresh air and enjoy the beautiful view of the sea along the way.
