Description
In the heart of Friesland lies an extensive low peat swamp: De Alde Feanen. Due to the many waterways you can only discover the edges of the National Park by bike - which is also very nice - but thanks to this ferry route you can still get on the water here and there to see the area at its most beautiful side. to see. During the short boat trips, keep an eye out for the many birds you see, because up to 100 species breed here. The Alde Feanen is one of the most important wetland bird areas in the Netherlands. This enormous wealth of animals is due to the extremely varied landscape. The start and end point is Hotel Restaurant Princenhof, on the edge of the village of Earnewâld, on the edge of the National Park.
