In the heart of Friesland lies an extensive peat bog: De Alde Feanen. Because of the many waterways you can only discover the edges of the National Park by bike - also very nice - but thanks to this ferry route you can still get out on the water here and there to see the area from its most beautiful side. see. During the short boat trips, keep an eye out for the many birds you see, because there are as many as 100 species that breed here. The Alde Feanen is one of the most important wetland bird areas in the Netherlands. This enormous wealth of animals is due to the enormously varied landscape. Start and end point is Hotel Restaurant Princenhof, on the edge of the village Earnewâld, on the edge of the National Park. The beautiful terrace on the water is a wonderful place to have a drink - order real Fryske tapas with it!
