Description
You can cycle endlessly in the forests in this area. The De Utrecht estate and the Wellenseind estate have approximately 2,500 hectares of forest area. In the Reuseldal and the areas around the fens you will find bell gentian, marsh club moss, white beaked rush and white sedge. But there is more than just natural beauty. An old fire tower with a forester's house from 1905 is one of the hidden gems of the forests.
Inn"In den Bockenreyder\\\"
After about 12 kilometers you can take a break at Herberg"In den Bockenreyder\\\". This inn exudes the atmosphere of the time when the goat riders went on raids. A cozy fire crackles in the inn, but it is also nice to relax on the terrace with a nice drink or a snack. The inn is beautifully situated in the middle of the woods and near the fens.

Near Ravels is the Regional Forest, known for its many fens. Afforestation of the heath began in 1906 and this forest is the result. You will now find a variety of deciduous and coniferous trees. The Kesseven, which is located in the southern part of the forest, is the largest fen with an area of approximately 3 hectares. The fen is quite shallow and during persistent drought it can sometimes dry out.
