In Zierikzee you will find a cozy atmosphere and plenty of cultural history. Peace, space and beautiful old villages await you in the countryside. Your route starts near the Flood Museum, where you can first take some time to learn everything about this tragedy. The museum is located in the four caissons that closed the last gap in the dike at Ouwerkerk. Then you cycle to beautiful Zierikzee for a cup of coffee at Café De Gekroonde Suikerbiet. Take a look at the old North and South Harbor gates at the Oude Haven, two of the three remaining city gates of Zierikzee. You will also pass through the picturesque Dreischor, a real ring village. You can enjoy the beautiful monumental buildings around the St. Adrian's Church from 1450.

It's quite a mouthful, but the Zierikzeese Cafe de Crowned Sugar Beet is also popularly known as the Beet. It owes this special name to the beet transports that have taken place from Schouwen-Duiveland since the end of the nineteenth century. Since 1873 there has been an inn with pub on this site. A bustling hotspot on the harbor of Zierikzee where there is always something to experience. A timeless brown cafe, living room pub, (beer) tasting, party tent, lunch spot and restaurant along the quay of Zierikzee. De Biet is the anchor of the city. Feel welcome.

The most famous windmill type in the Netherlands. Windmills were not only used to produce flour from cereals, but also for draining polder areas. Natural energy. The most famous windmills can be found in Kinderdijk, which have truly been set up as a polder model. A must see!
