You will find plenty of nature reserves in Limburg's Peel. You will also pass through beautiful towns such as Horst. In short: an ideal route to refuel for a day.
Evertsoord
The route starts in Helenaveen: one of the two former peat colonies in the southern Netherlands. At Eethuis en Cafetaria't Veen you can enjoy a coffee and something tasty before you get on your bike. First you drive along the Mariapeel: a unique remnant of an old vast raised bog area. The next town on your route is Evertsoord, a village that emerged from a camp of mining workers in the late 1930s.
Damaging Forests
You drive through the hamlet of America, after which the route takes you through the Schadijkse Bossen. Then you come to Meterik and the beautiful town of Horst. You cycle past the De Heesbeemden nature reserve to the village of Kronenberg.
