Tynaarlo, Drenthe, The Netherlands
Cycling route: 138538
Provided by: route.nl
You drive for miles through the best preserved stream and esdorp landscape in Western Europe. In 150 years, the scenery of grasslands, woods, hedgerows and ash trees has hardly changed. The Drentsche Aa also meanders as it used to. It looks like an open-air museum. A feeling that is only reinforced by the characteristic Saxon farms that you see in Anderen and Gasteren, for example. No matter how often you see them, dolmens continue to capture the imagination. D17 and D18 were sold to the State by the board of Rolde at the end of the nineteenth century for 150 guilders. D14 is one of the largest Dutch dolmens. At Snack- & Eetcafe Eexterhalte you can make a pit stop on the cozy terrace.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
