Tour of Dordrecht from Zuidpolder Landscape Park

This cycling route starts with a cup of coffee (or tea) at Polderzicht Tea & More, in the renovated Zuidpolder Landscape Park. From here you cycle through the Waalbos and along the water to Dordrecht. Three rivers meander around the city that meet just outside the city limits: the Beneden-Merwede, the Noord and the Oude Maas. You will see many ships by bike: due to its location just in front of Rotterdam, this water junction is the busiest part of Europe. Dordrecht, also called 'Dordt', is mentioned for the first time in a text from the twelfth century. When you cycle through the city, the rich past will undoubtedly appeal to you. For example, stop at Huis Weizigt from 1794. The high hipped roof, the brick facade with corner pilasters give the building a stately appearance.
